Denise Aberle, M.D., is Professor of Radiological Sciences, Chief of Thoracic Imaging, and Vice Chair for Research at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She chairs the Lung Committee of the American College of Radiology Imaging Network; this cooperative group, which is funded by the National Cancer Institute, supports imaging based cooperative trials as they relate to cancer. Dr. Aberle also is the author and Co-Principal Investigator of the National Lung Screening Trial, a $100 million randomized controlled trial of 50,000 older Americans at risk of lung cancer who will undergo screening.
